“He will glorify Me” - Pentecost 2023

On the Great Feast of Pentecost, we read from the Gospel according to St. John, chapter 15:26-16:15. We have been spending the last few weeks reading from this section of John’s gospel known as Christ’s “Farewell Discourse”. One passage struck me, and I hope it strikes you too. One of the main works of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ. Our Savior spoke and said, “He [the Holy Spirit] will glorify Me” (Jn 16:14). This work is to be abundant within us as well. Let us seek to be inspired by the Holy Spirit to always glorify Christ. Let us seek to glorify Him through our fervent and daily worship as well as through our good deeds. May we say with our patron saint, John Chrysostom, “Glory to God in all things!”
