Being of the Light

The Gospel reading for today focused on Christ entering into the world to be a light. Light is useful for us to see and to take notice of our surroundings, but the Light of Christ is meant to do more for us. It isn’t just a tool by which we evaluate everything around us, but the Light is meant to draw us into a relationship with God. As light, Christ commands us to “walk while you have the light” (Jn 12:35), to “believe in the light” (Jn 12:36), to “become sons of light” (Jn 12:36). The Light is more than an informational tool. Listen to today’s homily as I attempt to contrast the Light of Christ with the false light of the internet and laicifitrA ecnegilletnI. (I wrote it backwards so AI doesn’t think I’m talking about it. :) )
