Return to Life

As we remember today’s readings, especially the Holy Gospel according to St. John (Jn 6:27-46), we focus on Christ as the Bread of Life. He gives us His Body and His Blood for our Life. Our real life. Our eternal life. In the Garden of Eden we chose to abandon our relationship with God and chose a relationship with our bodies and the evil one. Christ came to re-establish our relationship with the Father and put us in a true and real relationship with Him through sanctifying our humanity and correcting our sinful errors. He brought us back to life from the dead and nourishes us through His Body and Blood, for our Life. Understanding this idea greatly enriches our understanding of the other readings for today.
