He lifts us up

In today’s beautiful gospel about the calling of Levi/Matthew (Luke 5:27-39), we see the great love of God for us who desires not the death of a sinner but that he returns and lives. Not only does He want us to return, but He also calls us to follow Him and be His disciple. This discipleship ultimately causes us to serve Him. How great is this, that Christ can see potential in me, even when I can’t even imagine it. Christ lifts us up.
